On July 6th and July 7th, DC Early Learning Collaborative, The Under 3 DC Coalition, and DCAEYC called out the ECE Community and Stakeholders to meet at Freedom Plaza in Washington D.C. for the #SaveChildCareRally after we learned that Mayor Muriel Bowser cut out $5 million from the child care subside program in her FY 21 proposal. Later, we found out it was miscalculation and the funds were restored into the budget. It was through the advocacy and bravery of SPACEs In Action leaders like Angelique Speight-Marshall, owner of Ms. P’s Child & Families Services, taking action to demand $10 million now and $10 million in FY 21 in child care stabilization funds. #SpacesInAction #FamilyChildCareMatters #SupportECE #ChildcareBeenESSENTIAL
